Day Trading Watchlist Gold Stock for Monday September 23 2019

Day trading alert on AKG a gold miner if it hits 1.03 area or green on the day. Great long triangular flag. This is one of the best looking charts I have seen in awhile. They are bordering on profitability too. Gold is acting well overnight to boot.

Trading Setups for Thursday

As I posted on Twitter I'm bullish on the Nasdaq index and ETF QQQ especially with Apple AAPL breaking out of a bullish ascending triangle pattern. QQQ being above the trading range it has been in is bullish on a breakout. Futures are up so it looks like off to the races.

Still Going

The bull market is still in full force as I was talking about on StockPursuit.com. I'm long ATI from the 18.50s. It's still good here. It's a steel stock that hasn't really run yet. CMLS is one I'm keeping an eye on and my watchlist for Monday is LEI AMPE APTO FAS.

All My Current Positions and Watchlists

I'm still stalking APPS for a buy on the 1.13 print. It hit a high of 1.12 again so this is a key area as I expected. If it hits 1.13 I will be long. PESI is going strong still so I am not looking to short it here. Recent additions to my long-term account include Dominos Pizza DPZ and Planet Fitness PLNT. I've had PLNT for awhile but I don't think I mentioned it on this blog. I did an in-depth analysis on Stock Pursuit. Dominos is moving out of the pennant flag it was in and could run lots more. With people spending more on eating out now than ever in history, this fact puts DPZ in a great position to profit from this trend. I still have FSEAX PFN SORL.

Great Short Setup

It doesn't get much better than this for a stock short setup. This one DRWI is up over 300% in about a week. It's gone from $2 to $10 in less than a month. I've been watching it for days now. It just printed a shooting star way above the upper bollinger band Wednesday. If this cracks the 8.59s it might freefall fast. Wow, the more I look at the chart the more I like it. The fundamentals aren't great. I don't know the driver of this run but it hasn't even been turning a profit on some of the income statements I looked at. One analyst and negative earnings forecast for next year.

Lots of Plays Out There

I longed Jones Soda (JSDA) at .53 this morning. It broke out in the afternoon and printed $.57. I did a post on it on Stock Pursuit. I covered a little over half of my SM Energy (SM) short around 10.00 a share. It continued to tank another 6% even with oil and the market up. This is good. I will hold the rest for awhile. DRYS is on trend support and if it breaks over $.12 a share it should run atleast a day. The Baltic dry index is so oversold now. It's crazy. Not a good thing being down so much for the economy possibly.

LEI LPTH

LEI is up on good news. It's a good short watch for a day trade or quick swing. It's highly probable that it will consolidate lower over coming days just because it ran so much in one day. Short bias.

I've seen this one LPTH hit my scans a lot over past months. Digging into it more I find it is a $60 million dollar company with explosive earnings growth. Earnings estimates just got bumped up big. This is always good. It's hitting new 52 week highs. $3.00 is major multi year resistance. If it clears that its off to the races probably. It could be good on the short side if it stalls out to. I like it long bias at the moment.

GIG High Flag Breakout

GigOptics GIG is a small cap tech stock. Specifically a chip tech company. The PE is super low and it's small cap. I am going to buy the breakout if it hits 2.81. I have a buy stop order out for that. Looks like a nice high flag at resistance here.

Short Watch

Text book shooting star candle above the upper Bollinger band. These don't come around that often. They just reported earnings recently so its not perfect but the setup is still there for a quick trade.

Watchlist Coming

We got the follow through in crude oil I talked about Thursday. Oil had another run day Friday. Just looking at the S&P 500, Dow and Nasdaq it looks like a bear flag.

I'm going to run through a lot of scans as always this weekend. I will have a watchlist up before the US market opens on Monday. If you check the site for watchlists check in 9am to 9:30am eastern US roughly. Same for any other day during the week. If you get emails I'm not sure if there is a lag or not. There is usually a slight lag for me. If I don't see anything good enough for a setup I don't post anything here or on Twitter. Sometimes the setups all come at once, I have to much going on or I notice things during market hours. In that case I always have posted them on my Twitter .

Natural Gas Short

It looks like natural gas is the only major commodity not breaking down. I compared natural gas to oil over the past year and they are correlated. It isn't a perfect correlation but when oil began tanking in the past nat gas followed. I remember last time there was just a lag but they will track each other in these crashes. I have an order in to buy the 3 X inverse ETF DGAZ this morning as pre-market is indicating UNG down again about 1%. After such a big candle that we had yesterday in UNG more weakness is imminent. Dive gas dive!

I have ANY OCLS long bias. Short bias I found some really good ones. NQ HILL CLF. These look like the breakdown is imminent.

Twitter watchlist

I posted 8 stocks here on my twitter for Monday. I'm usually more active on my twitter than here on this blog. I love Twitter as a stock alerts platform. I follow some good and great traders on there. Let's see how my watchlist performed. From my watchlist for Monday IMMU was a Nasdaq top gainer up 15%. OHGI was up 17%! NNVC finished up 5%. MELA up 3% and I think it wants more.
